Arsenal are set to make a move for long term target, Granit Xhaka who currently plays for Borrusia Monchenglabach in the German Bundesliga.
The Swiss international has been tracked by the Gunners since he broke into the first team at his former club Basel, and reports say Arsenal have recently been sending scouts to watch him ahead of a potential transfer.
Granit Xhaka, 23 has been an integral part of a much improved Borussia Monchenglabach side since joining from Basel in 2012. And has made 89 appearances for the club since joining them.
His recent impressive performances have alerted Arsenal, who coincidentally are in need of a central midfielder, with a move in January a possibility.
There are also reports of a £21 million buyout clause in his contract which will only be activated in 2017. But the Gunners would be able to tempt Monchenglabach to part with their prized asset.
Xhaka is a central midfielder who combines creativity with power, making him able to play as a roaming playmaker and also a holding midfielder, his addition would see him able to replace both Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin adequately, adding more depth to the squad.
