Frenchman Mathieu Debuchy has been advised to leave the Gunners after a disappointing season since moving from Newcastle United.
France coach Didier Deschamps advised Debuchy to leave in other to save his career and also if he wants a place in the national squad for the Euro 2016 tournament.
Debuchy lost his place to Hector Bellerin in pecking order and was only selected to start mid-week’s match due to injury problems rocking the Arsenal defence.
“Mathieu [Debuchy] has not lost all of his qualities overnight. But he has played very little. He needs to face up to the competition at his club,” Goal.com quoted Deschamps as saying.
“I spoke to him in September. He is a player who is under contract at Arsenal. He is somebody who is rational and intelligent.
“You cannot pretend to be at 100 per cent at international level when you play so little. It’s up to him to see what happens in December, January.”
