Edinson Cavani is reportedly set to join Arsenal before the summer transfer window closes tomorrow evening.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are on the brink of completing a deadline day swoop for the PSG goal hitman, who was on target twice for the French club on Sunday against Monaco.
Cavani has been heavily linked to Arsenal in recent months and The Telegraph quote reports in Spain saying that the Uruguayan striker has emerged as a key target for the Gunners, with Arsene Wenger ‘finally ready to end the hunt for a striker’ with a bid for the prolific goal poacher.
Cavani is said to be keen on the move, having fallen out with manager Laurent Blanc on several occasions last season, and wanting to play in the Premier League for the first time.
The former Napoli man has offers from top Premier League clubs, but he is eyeing a regular football for the new season and it is believed that the parties will agree a deal with the Gunners before the window closes 6pm tomorrow evening.
Wenger is a huge fan of the 28-year-old striker right from his days in the Serie A, and with the Gunner’s boss keen on adding a striker to his side this summer to boost his chances of clinching a major silverware this season, Cavani would certainly be an ideal addition to finally complete Wenger’s jigsaw puzzle.
