It seems Arsenal’s interest in Gonzalo Higuain for this summer has ended, but Wenger’s admiration for him hasn’t, with reports stating that Arsenal will pursue his transfer in January.
Napoli are not interested in selling the striker this summer, and as such have put an asking price of £59million on him, and aren’t willing to listen to any offer below that.
This has pushed the clubs interested in him away, including Arsenal who were forced to withdraw their interest after much speculations that he could become the top class striker addition the Emirates fans have been expecting all summer.
It is believed that Wenger has now turned his attention to PSG’s Edinson Cavani after Karim Benzema who is another target, declining a move to the Emirates.
But Arsenal still believes a move for Higuain will materialize in January, and they will pursue it again by then.
Arsenal have entered into the period of desperation, with their search for a striker set to go right down to transfer deadline day.
