Arsenal have reportedly reignited their interest in signing long time target Edinson Cavani.
According to reports emerging from Spain, the Gunners are weighing up a move for Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani as Karim Benzema to Arsenal deal drags.
Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for a proven striker to bolster his attack this season, and the Frenchman see the 28-year-old Uruguayan international as an ideal option should he fail to bring his long time target Benzema to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Cavani has been well documented also, with several reports of failed attempts by the Gunners to bring the former Napoli and Palermo man to north London in the last two transfer windows.
Although Benzema still remains first choice in Wenger’s transfer wish-list, however, many Arsenal supporters would welcome the idea of Cavani playing for us this summer.
Cavani, who scored 78 goals in 104 appearances during his short stint with Napoli is already reported by Fichajes per the Metro as the striker which Arsenal would eventually land this summer, with the player reportedly open to a move away from the French capital after falling out with manager Laurent Blanc.
Cavani also, would cost just as much as Benzema would, and would certainly add a real bite to the Arsenal attack should a deal to bring him to the Emirates Stadium materialise.
