Arsenal’s chances of signing him looked to have ended after it was reported by the Express that the German international had agreed terms on a £50,000-a-week deal with the Turin giants, with Draxler’s agent saying:
“We are at a point where only Juventus and Schalke must come to a deal,”
But Schalke couldn’t reach an agreement with the Serie A champions; with fresh reports according to the Metro saying they rejected a £15.6million bid from Juventus, paving the way for the Gunners to reignite their interest.
The 21-year-old has been a long term target for Arsenal, but his huge release clause has always put the Gunners off.
However, Arsene Wenger has never hidden his admiration for the Germany international and will be hoping to finally bring him to the Emirates this summer.
A bid in the region of £25million will reportedly be enough to sign the midfielder from Schalke.
If the price is reasonable Arsenal will go for him, but if they continue to ask for more for a 21 year old who has never ever had a record in football, who is not even known much, they will not get a buyer. Although he is a good player, the fact that he has never done something that people talk about, I do not see any club going for him, he is still learning and for that kind of money is too-much. The club should think twice if they want to see him and reduce their asking price.
