According to popular Spanish journalist Kike Marin, the Gunners are lining up Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski as a summer transfer striker target option, should they fail to land Benzema in the coming weeks.
Real Madrid forward Benzema has been heavily linked to Arsenal this summer, with reports of an Arsenal bid already gone in for the player.
But with fresh reports of Arsenal’s bid for Benzema being stalled by Madrid, the north London outfit are reportedly lining up Lewandowski as an alternative.
The Spanish journalist had earlier reported that Arsenal are looking at a secret back-up option, which he has now revealed as Bayern Munich’s £44.7million rated striker Lewandowski, with the 26-year-old’s agent revealing last month that his client would make the switch to the Premier League, should he leave Bayern.
@Arsenal Slowly, but surely. Wenger will try to sign to Benzema. If can not, Arsène has a second option ? #Arsenal pic.twitter.com/zRr8JYKa82
