Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
According to Transferrumours.co.uk, Arsenal are prepared to receive offers for French international Mattieu Debuchy, according to reports. The French defender has been linked with a move away from the Emirates after he lost his place to 19 year old Hector Bellerin.
Debuchy, 30, is looking for a way out of the Emirates in order to get regular playing time. The defender is keen to impress France boss Didier Deschamps as he hopes to be selected in the France team partaking in the Euro championships next summer that will be held in his homeland.
And according to the Dailymail, the Gunners are resigned to losing the 30 year old in January.
Italian giant AS Roma are keen on the defender as a replacement for aging Douglas Maicon and would table an offer for Debuchy’s services, as per football Italia.
West Brom are reportedly also monitoring the defender’s situation and with the defender keen on leaving the Emirates, Wenger may be forced to go into the market for a replacement.
Speaking at a press conference, Wenger refused to rule out the possibility of Debuchy’s exit saying:
“It’s not impossible Debuchy will leave. I happy for him to stay, but we’ll see.”
Debuchy has made just 12 league appearances for Arsenal since moving from Newcastle United in 2014.
