The Polish international defensive midfield star has been linked with Arsenal this summer. Though with Francis Coquelin’s emergence, the issue of signing a defensive midfielder seems to have died down.
But after Coquelin’s last performance against Crystal Palace where he had to be substituted to avoid a Red card, it became clear that if he is suspended, injured or suffers a drop in form; Arsenal would be in big trouble, with Mikel Arteta no longer seen as an adequate backup.
This fact has altered Wenger’s view of the defensive midfield area, and now it seems the boss has decided to add a backup, with Mathieu Flamini seemingly surplus to requirement.
A move for Krychowiak would see Arsenal activate his release clause which is put at around £23million.
The midfielder joined Sevilla last year from Reims and has won the Europa League and European Super Cup already.
