Arsenal are set to shock fans this summer with reports that they are interested in signing Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze for a club record fee, according to Metro.

Coming soon after reports of a club record £45million move for Karim Benzema, Arsenal are now ready to flex their financial muscles, with a £49.6million move for Gotze on the cards.

The report also says the move has rattled Bayern Munich who weren’t expecting such a bid for their star player at this time.

Gotze moved to Bayern two seasons ago in a controversial £30million transfer from rivals Borussia Dortmund.

But his agent’s recent attack on coach Pep Guardiola’s management techniques has since put Gotze’s future in doubt.

The attacking midfielder has been linked to Arsenal since his days at Dortmund, with the Gunners almost sealing a move for him a year before he moved to Bayern.

With Arsene Wenger stating earlier this summer that he is only interested in exceptional signings, Mario Gotze sure fits that bill, and would be a perfect fit for Arsenal.

This is nonsense. Arsenal filled that position with Ozil and Cazorla, both of whom are statistically shown to be better players than Gotze. Arsenal’s interest is simply a lie.

If you respect or care about Arsenal fans then stop reporting on the crap metro churns out please. It drags you down to their low standards. They offer Zero journalistic credibility and guff out lie after lie. Also maybe have a rethink about your title font it looks more like the clod end than the clock end.
