The French junior international, who only recently signed for the Gunners this summer – joining the youth side from RC Lens, will get Arsene Wenger’s nod to battle for first team place beginning with a run out in pre-season.
The Arsenal boss confirmed Jeff’s inclusion when he told reporters:
“You will see Jeff Reine-Adelaide [in pre-season],” Wenger told Arsenal Player.
“Adelaide is a player I have identified in France. He just won the European Championship with the under-17s.”
“He was born in 1998, which is always a good year for Arsenal… you cannot have bad players in that year!”
“He’s an offensive player but he can develop into an all-round midfielder as well. At the moment he plays on the right or left but I think he can develop as a central midfielder as well.”
The pacy left-footed attacker is expected to justify the manger’s faith in him and has been tipped as one of the bright prospects of the future.
Sources say the 17-year-old winger will be deployed down the left flank for the Gunners, with Alexis Sanchez and Serge Gnabry away on holidays, after taking part in off-season competitions.
