Arsenal have taken 18-year-old Nantes midfielder Amine Harit on trial ahead of a deal to sign him permanently.
The French Under-18 international who recently signed a new contract at Nantes has also been linked to Manchester United and Barcelona this summer, but has opted for Arsenal instead.
He was reported to have trained at the London Colney training ground earlier in the week under Wenger’s eyes; but with the host of central midfielders at Arsenal both at youth and first team level however, it might take some time before he can gun for first team.
But Wenger’s track record of spotting and grooming young talents into World stars would mean the diminutive midfielder, who has been described by some as technically gifted, and one of the brightest prospect in French football, will be given the opportunity to prove himself.
Reports say he has begun training with the first team this pre-season to allow Wenger access him before sanctioning a deal; which if completed would make him the fourth youth signing after Vlad dragmir, Reine-Adelaide and Yassin Fortune.
The midfielder has made 89 appearances for Nantes II scoring 1 goal
