The North London derby is upon us. Tottenham come to visit the Emirates this Saturday, trying to derail our already off-track season even further. For me, it’s a chance for our boys to kick-start our season & continue our great record against the scum and show them that they are well and truly in our shadow. North London is Red.

We aren’t in the best of form coming into this one. Much to my disgust, I really think its unacceptable that we are in this position, being our worst start to the league campaign for 30 years. Despite signs of improvement in the Fulham game, there are still glaring errors being made which need to be rectified soon. Something has to give, and I think the North London Derby is just the injection we need to come back to life.

This is a derby, the form book goes out the window.

That’s not to say the scum can use the same excuse and use it as motivation too. They might want to brag about how they are above us in the table, but in reality their season has been just as inconsistent as ours.

They are just one point ahead and we can leapfrog them by winning. They’ve won at Old Trafford but followed that up with losses to Wigan, Newcastle and frustrating draws against struggling teams ensure that they are at about the same position as us heading into the derby.

While they are capable of producing a problem or two for us, I’m confident that we can produce a result in this game. It is a fixture which we have dominated. In fact, since 2000, we have only lost to them twice, producing great results along the way.

Who could forget our comeback at the White Hart Lane in 2007 where Fabregas and Adebayor produced two absolute screamers?

What about the “11 second derby” in 2009? Van Persie broke the deadlock in a tight game, and Fabregas blitzed past the entire Tottenham team from the kick-off to put the game to bed within 11 seconds. Sensational.

Then there was last year. We were in a poor run of form and went 2-0 down at home to the scum. It was depressing. But, the rest was history. A 5-2 comeback victory, really stunned them into silence.

The North London Derby really does live up to the hype, and the best part is we end up on top nearly every time. I’m predicting a fascinating derby on Saturday.

We will go behind 1-0, before an equalizer just before the break from Giroud. We will fall behind again just after the break, before Giroud will rise to the occasion and make it 2-2. Walcott will then seal the win in the dying stages to make it a 3-2 epic. We will prove once again that North London is Red.

Come on you Gunners!
